Background
Tacos 76 seeks the issuance of a Restaurant Class B-1 liquor license for the property located at 838 Madison Street. Tacos 76 will be a taqueria style new restaurant at that location offering fast casual counter-service of tacos, tortas, burritos and other Mexican street fare. The restaurant plans to service domestic, international, craft and local beers as well as cocktails, such as margaritas, through the issuance of a B-1 license. At its special meeting of August 31, 2020, the Liquor Control Review Board ("LCRB") found that Tacos 76 met all of the applicable requirements for the issuance of a B-1 license and voted to unanimously recommend that the license be issued. Prior to the issuance of the license, the Village Code must be amended to include Tacos 76 as a B-1 licensee. It is also recommended that establishments that maintained liquor licenses that are no longer in operation be deleted from the Village Code.
