Fiscal Impact

Costs associated with the use of Occupational Health Centers of Illinois, P.C. d/b/a/ Concerta Medical Centers are reasonable and customary for the industry. Consistent with the current adopted budget, the FY2021 “Employee Physicals” general ledger account (1001-41080-101-560652) will include funding for Occupational Health costs.

Background

On July 13, 2016 Loyola Occupational Health Services (Loyola) informed the Village they would no longer provide occupational health services as the hospital system was closing this book of business.

On August 1, 2016 the Human Resources Department posted a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Occupational Health. The RFP had one response: U.S. Healthworks Medical Group of Illinois, P.C. (“U.S. Healthworks”).

An evaluation team which included Public Works Director, Fire Chief, Workers’ Compensation Coordinator and Human Resources staff reviewed the RFP response and toured the facility, located at 2615 W. Harrison in Bellwood. The tour included a review of protocols, treatment rooms, physical therapy space, and a general meeting with medical providers. All found the location, work flow and communication processes to meet their needs.

In 2018, Concentra Group Holdings, LLC (“Concentra”) acquired U.S. HealthWorks, Inc (“U.S. HealthWorks”). The Village has received high quality and responsive occupational health services from Concentra through 2019 and into 2020.
