Overview
In anticipation of additional, unplanned HVAC repairs needed at Village Hall, the Public Works Center, three fire stations and three water pumping stations throughout the remainder of 2020, staff is submitting an Amendment to the Independent Contractor Agreement with Oak Brook Mechanical Services, Inc. (OMS) increasing the agreement from $35,000.00 to $45,000.00.

Fiscal Impact
The Fiscal Year 2020 General Fund, Public Works Department, Building Maintenance Division Operating Budget includes a total of $121,000 in accounts 1001-43790-711, 713, 714 and 717-540674 for property repairs. To date, $24,532.09 remains.
The FY2020 Water & Sewer Fund Property Repair account # 5040-43730-776-540674 includes a total of $30,000 of which $22,637.47 remains.
If approved, the total amended contract cost with Oak Brook Mechanical Services, Inc. in 2020 would not exceed $45,000.00. The additional $10,000 would come out of the following accounts: $6,000 from 711-540674; $2,000 from 714-540674 and $2,000 from the 776-540674 Water & Sewer Fund Property Repair account.
Background
On February 3, 2020, the Village Board approved an Independent Contractor Agreement and Purchase Order (PO) with OMS for emergency HVAC repairs for $35,000.00. As of August 14, 2020, $6,725.98 remains on the Purchase Order. However, there are some unpaid invoices and once paid, there will be approximately $1,000 remaining on the PO.
