Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Overview
Overview
As previously shared with the Village Board, staff has been working with local restaurants to extend outdoor sidewalk dining and on-street parklet dining locations since summer in response to indoor dining restrictions. As winter approaches, staff has invited Aria Group, an Oak Park based architectural firm with restaurant industry expertise to present concepts for outdoor winter dining on sidewalks as well as on-street parklet concepts.

Fiscal Impact
Staff will review potential Village support for some portion of the concepts, similar to the current rental of the barricades to protect on-street parklet dining spaces from traffic.

Background
This item is a follow-up to the prior report to the Board that staff has been working with local restaurants related to the existing sidewalk outdoor dining and barricades that were installed this summer to create on-street dining.
In July, the Village began renting "orange barricades" to create new on-street dining parklets and extended sidewalk dining permits through October. The State of Illinois issued Tier 1 mitigation rules inclusive of a ban on indoor dining due to rising COVID cases effective October 28, 2020. As a result, Village staff has extend all outdoor dining permits, as well as issued new permits for sidewalk dining and worked with individual restaurants to maintain on-street dining parklet locations, where requested, through December 1, 2020. While some restaurants have communicated that they are moving to a strictly curbside format, the presentation scheduled for Monday is to identify concepts to support outdoor winter dining options for local restaurants.
