Background
House Bill 3922 was signed into law by Governor Pritzker on June 16, 2021 and President Biden also signed Senate Bill S 475 designating Juneteenth Independence Day as a federal holiday. Section IV (“Compensation”) of the Personnel Manual includes designated holidays observed by the Village of Oak Park.
Alternatives
The State of Illinois has designated Juneteenth a paid holiday only when July 19th falls on a weekday.
