Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. Overview
The Public Works Department is responsible for the anti-icing and de-icing treatment of various sidewalks, bridge decks, and streets. The Parking Services Division of the Development Customer Services Department is responsible for de-icing sidewalks adjacent to parking areas parking structures that are susceptible to corrosion during snow plowing and salting events. Staff recommends the purchase of products from SNI Solutions, Inc., which provides less corrosive and more environmentally friendly de-icing materials. The bid process waiver is requested as SNI Solutions, Inc. is the only dealer for both products in the Chicago area.

Fiscal Impact
The Fiscal Year 2022 Motor Fuel Tax Winter Roadway Maintenance account no. 2038-43740-765-560633 provides $30,000.00 in funds for environmentally friendly anti-icing and de-icing compounds.

In addition, the Fiscal Year 2022 Parking General Fund provides $5,000.00 in accounts no. 5060-43770-786-530660 ($2,500.00) and no. 5060-43770-787-530660 ($2,500.00).

Background
The Public Works Department and Parking Services Division use bags of Ecosalt (granular salt that has been treated with a mixture of corn, soybean, and sugar beets) for treatment of sidewalks and parking structures that are susceptible to corrosion during snow plowing and salting events.
