A budget amendment providing for the additional $3,650.00 for this contract will be presented to the Village Board in the first quarter of 2022.
Background
The elevator on the second level of the OPRF High School parking structure is not adequately sheltered, with machinery and equipment exposed to inclement weather conditions throughout the year. This exposure contributes to numerous malfunctions, necessitating continual repairs to the elevator equipment. As part of the ongoing parking structure maintenance program outlined in the FY21 - 25 Capital Improvement Plan, an enclosure was proposed to be constructed adjacent to the northeast elevator/stair tower on the second level of the structure.
Design and construction management services for this project were estimated by staff to be less than $10,000.00. Pursuant to the Village's Purchasing Policy, staff requested bids from three (3) structural engineering firms.
