This agreement is for maintaining and repairing overhead doors at the Public Works Center, Water Pumping Stations, Fire Stations, Village Hall, and Parking Garages. The first year of the agreement with Allied Garage Door expired on December 31, 2021. The agreement allows for a one-year renewal.

Fiscal Impact
The Fiscal Year 2022 General Fund, Building Maintenance Property Repair Accounts # 1001-43790- 713 ($20,000.00) and 714 ($7,500.00)-540674 contain sufficient funds for overhead door repairs.
The 2022 Parking Fund Property Repair Accounts # 5060-43770-783 ($1,000.00), 784 ($2,500.00) and 788 ($3,000.00)-540674 also contain sufficient funds for overhead door repairs.
The 2022 Water & Sewer Fund Property Repair Account # 5040-43730-776-540674 ($1,000) also contains sufficient funds for overhead door repairs.
Background
In December of 2020, the Public Works Building Maintenance Division received bids from overhead garage door companies to provide emergency repairs and maintenance services at Village owned buildings on an as-needed basis. Allied Garage Door, Inc. submitted the most favorable labor rates and the Village entered into an Independent Contractor Agreement with Allied Garage Door on February 9, 2021. The agreement allows a one-year renewal.
Historically, the Village has spent between $25,000.00 and $35,000,00 annually for this service.
Allied has performed very well in 2021 and in previous years and has been very responsive to call-outs. Staff recommends the Village renew the Independent Contractor Agreement with Allied Garage Door for 2022. Repair and mainten...
