Background

In December of 2020, the Public Works Building Maintenance Division received bids from overhead garage door companies to provide emergency repairs and maintenance services at Village owned buildings on an as-needed basis.  Allied Garage Door, Inc. submitted the most favorable labor rates and the Village entered into an Independent Contractor Agreement with Allied Garage Door on February 9, 2021.  The agreement allows a one-year renewal.

Historically, the Village has spent between $25,000.00 and $35,000,00 annually for this service.

Allied has performed very well in 2021 and in previous years and has been very responsive to call-outs.  Staff recommends the Village renew the Independent Contractor Agreement with Allied Garage Door for 2022.  Repair and maintenance services would be done on an as-needed basis at the Public Works Center, Village Hall, all three Fire Stations, all three Water Pumping Stations, and all Village-owned Parking Garages.

If approved, the Renewal of the Independent Contractor Agreement with Allied Garage Door would not exceed $35,000.00 in Fiscal Year 2022.
