Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Granite Telecommunications, LLC (Granite) has been providing the Village's 1000 Mbps Internet service since 2019. The service agreement between Granite and the Village is up for renewal in April 2022.

Fiscal Impact
The FY 2022 Budget contains funds in the amount of $18,000 for high-speed internet service in Telecommunication Charges account 1001.410400.101.540690.

Background
High-speed internet service is a core service for daily operations of the increased online activities and remote services. The Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) combines the resources and purchasing power of Illinois municipalities to jointly negotiate advantageous contract terms at the lowest possible price. In the 2022 Joint Purchasing Program, the SPC selected Granite as a telecommunications vendor under contract #205. As an Illinois municipality, the Village is entitled to participate in vendor pricing awarded by SPC.

Previous Board Action
On October 1, 2018, the Village Board approved RES 18-982, authorizing a three-year agreement with Granite to provide internet service.

Citizen Advisory Commission Action
The Civic Information Systems Commission (CISC) first reviewed the Village's IT Strategic Plan at their April 17, 2014 meeting. CISC receives updates and understands this core service as required for daily operations.
