Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. As requested by the Village Board at the April 4, 2022, Village Board meeting, staff has prepared a Motion approving the installation of the temporary speed table on the 1150 block of Lexington Street between Harlem Avenue and Maple Avenue and directing staff to install the temporary speed table. Pending Village Board concurrence, the Public Works Department will install temporary speed tables from existing inventory.

There are no fiscal impacts to installing the temporary speed table as there is an existing inventory of material that will be used.

Background
As directed by the Village Board at the April 4, 2022, regular meeting of the Village Board, staff has prepared a Motion to install a temporary speed table on the 1150 block of Lexington to address concerns from residents in the southwest part of the Village surrounding criminal activities and traffic concerns.

Pending Village Board concurrence, Public Works staff will install a temporary speed table on Lexington east of the existing driveway for the vacant Mohr Concrete. Engineering will collect traffic data prior to the installation of the speed table and schedule post-installation traffic data collection to determine the effectiveness of the speed table at slowing traffic and to get additional traffic data for the area in general.

The temporary speed table is not intended to be a permanent traffic calming device at this location. The Village Manager is authorized to remove the temporary speed table at the Village Manager's discretion.
