Background
Il Vicolo seeks the issuance of a Restaurant Class B-1 liquor license for the property located at 116 N. Oak Park Avenue. Il Vicolo has been in operation as a restaurant at that location for a number of years under previous ownership as Il Vicolo Trattoria, Inc. The new owner, Il Viccolo Oak Park, Inc., plans to continue to operate the restaurant with the same menu and same basic operation.
At its special meeting of April 25, 2022, the Liquor Control Review Board (“LCRB”) found that Il Vicolo met all of the applicable requirements for the issuance of a B-1 license and voted to unanimously recommend that the license be issued. Prior to the issuance of the license, the Village Code must be amended to include the new Il Vicolo entity as a B-1 licensee. In addition, the ordinance contains amendments to the Village Code to delete establishments that were issued liquor licenses that are no longer in operation or no longer serve alcoholic liquors.
