Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. Background

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced a solicitation to provide funding to support the implementation of crisis intervention teams including training for law enforcement officers in crisis intervention response. Awarded grant projects will receive 100% funding for costs associated with the program up to a maximum of $350,000 for a duration of two (2) years. There is no local match.

 

The funding goals include:

                     Supporting the implementation of crisis intervention teams.

                     Training for law enforcement officers.

                     Train the trainer costs.

                     Embedded behavioral or mental health professionals in crisis intervention

 

Currently, 58% of the Police Department’s officers are trained in crisis intervention.

 

Alternatives

The Village could decline the grant opportunity.
