Overview
In 2022, the Village applied for Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) grant funding to help fund the construction of permeable alleys and Parking Lot 10. The Village of Oak Park recently received notice of award of $500,000 from MWRD for their Green Infrastructure Partnership Program for construction of four (4) permeable alleys and Parking Lot 10 in 2024. The Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) defines the terms and conditions of the funding program.

Background
The Village of Oak Park recently received notice of award of $500,000 from MWRD for their Green Infrastructure Partnership Program for construction of four (4) permeable alleys and Parking Lot 10 in 2024. In 2022, the Village applied for MWRD funding to help fund the construction of permeable alleys and Parking Lot 10. Staff identified these two projects that were already included in the 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan that fit with the grant's objectives and also are located in areas with sandy soils which allows for cost-effective installations of permeable pavements. Lot 10 is located north of North Blvd between Marion and Forest and was already scheduled for reconstruction due to its pavement condition.
Per the terms of the IGA, design of the alleys and Parking Lot 10 will need to be complete by the end of 2023. Construction of these must occur in 2024 or the Village will lose these grant funds. The grant requires the design of the alleys and parking lot accommodate capt...
