Body
Background
Caf? Cubano seeks the issuance of a Restaurant Class B-1 liquor license for the property located at 113 N. Oak Park Avenue. Caf? Cubano has been in operation as a restaurant in the Village of Elmwood Park for 23 years and now plans to move to Oak Park with a planned opening date in May 2024. Caf? Cubano held an Elmwood Park liquor license during the time it was in business in Elmwood Park. The location at 113 N. Oak Park Avenue was previously occupied by Fritzi's Delicatessen, which held a B-2 liquor license. A B-1 liquor license will allow Caf? Cubano to sell all alcoholic liquors for consumption at tables on its premises. Caf? Cubano plans seating for 82 persons at its new Oak Park location.
At its regular meeting on March 26, 2023, the Liquor Control Review Board ("LCRB") found that Caf? Cubano met all of the applicable requirements for the issuance of a B-1 license and voted to unanimously recommend that the license be issued. Prior to the issuance of the license, the Village Code must be amended to include Caf? Cubano as a B-1 licensee.
