Background
Oak Park Egg Harbor, LLC, DBA as Egg Harbor ("Egg Harbor") seeks a Restaurant Class B-1 liquor license for the premises located at 1111 South Boulevard. Egg Harbor has 22 locations in three states and seeks to open its newest location in Oak Park with a planned opening in June 2024. A B-1 liquor license will Egg Harbor to sell and serve all alcoholic liquors for consumption at tables on its premises. Egg Harbor plans seating for 105 persons. Egg Harbor's planned hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. seven days a week with service of breakfast and lunch items. Egg Harbor plans to offer mixed drinks during these hours which will require an amendment to the Village Code to expand the hours applicable licensees may sell and serve alcoholic liquors at their establishments.
At its March 26, 2024 regular meeting, the Liquor Control Review Board ("LCRB") unanimously voted to recommend that the Ordinance be adopted granting the B-1 license to Egg Harbor. The LCRB also unanimously recommended that the hours restaurant licensees may sell and service alcoholic liquors at their establishments be amended to allow such sales and service beginning at 7:00 a.m.
