Fiscal Impact
The FY 19 budget included a one-time implementation fee of $54,150 and $22,787 for an annual subscription service in account 1001.42400.101.530667. This is a three year agreement.
Background
The Police Department currently maintains and distributes policies and procedures through electronic PDF documents and training bulletins. This method is inefficient and makes updating and disseminating materials laborious. Lexipol will provide a comprehensive database of organizational tailored policies and procedures vetted by police professionals and public safety attorneys grounded in Illinois legislation and industry best practices. The acquisition and implementation of this program will provide the department with a technology based platform to facilitate daily training and comprehension assessment tracking. This partnership will enhance personnel accountability and reduce department liability.
Through extensive research we have determined that Lexipol is the only vendor that can provide the service to achieve improved long term operational efficiencies for the police department. As a sole source provider, Lexipol offers a unique combination of services, such as:
• Illinois state-specific law enforcement policies;
• With regular updates to these policies based on changing laws and regulations in the form of fully written policies and/or edits to existing policies;
• Delivered in a convenient cloud-based platform;
• With user-friendly editing tools that allows full customization by agency;
• With interactive daily training (360 law enforcement scenarios per year) for your agency policies, and high-risk, low-frequency events (Daily Training Bulletins);
• With the archiving and reporting features that are included with the Policy Manual and Daily Training Bulletins.
• Policy Acknowledgement Tracking
• Ongoing Customer Care
• Implementation and Management Services
