Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Overview
Upon review and discussion of the Reinventing Government Committee of the Board of Trustees a recommendation to merge the duties the Public Art Adviosry as detailed in Chapter 2 ("Administration") Article 22 ("Public Art Advisory Commission") of the Oak Park Village Code into the duties as stated in the annual service contract with the Oak Park Area Arts Council to be presented on December 5, 2016 for review and approval.

Fiscal Impact
The Public Art Advisory Commission has requested $100,000 in the 2017 Capital Improvement Budget. If approved by the Board, these funds will be available to the Oak Park Area Arts Council (OPAAC) for public art activities. Monthly invoicing will be provided to village staff for public art activities.

Background
As part of The Board's ongoing efforts to streamline governmental activities, the Reinventing Government Committee of the Village Board reviewed the responsibilities and duties of both the Public Art Advisory Commission and the Oak Park Area Arts Council to determine if the activities of these groups would be better served under one organization. The Reinventing Government Committee is in agreement that there is significant overlap in duties and responsibilities of the Commission and Council and is recommending that all duties and responsibilities of the Public Art Advisory Commission be assumed by the Oak Park Area Arts Council effective January 1, 2017.
