Overview
Overview
In April 2017 the Village entered into an agreement with Everest Snow Management, Inc. of Hickory Hills, Illinois for parkway tree watering. It is proposed to exercise the first of the two possible renewals to the agreement for this work in 2018.

Body
Staff Recommendation
Approve the Resolution.

Fiscal Impact
The FY 2018 Capital Improvement Fund Budget provides a total of $200,000.00 for the purchase, planting and watering of new trees in Account No. 3095-43780-101-570957, Tree Replacement.

Of this budget amount, $150,000.00 is proposed for the purchase of trees and $50,000.00 is proposed for the watering of the trees from this planting year and the two previous planting seasons.

Background
The Village plants approximately 450 - 550 trees each year on Village right-of-way in parkway and medians. To insure a successful installation, part of the after care for these trees is watering provided by contractor for the first growing season.

Village staff solicited for bids in February of last year for the 2017 growing season. Everest Snow Management, Inc. was the low responsive bidder for the contract. The Village entered into an Independent Contractor Agreement in April 2017 for this work. The quality of work and service in 2017 was excellent. Village staff is recommending the Village exercise the first of the two possible renewals outlined in the original agreement.

Alternatives
The Board can delay action to gain additional information.

Previous Board Action
The Village Board has approved the contract annually and in 2017 Everest Snow Management was approved for the first year of the contract.
