Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Overview
Competitive bids were opened on March 1, 2018, for the 2018 Alley Improvement Project 18-4. Thirteen contractors picked up bid documents and eight bids were received. The low responsible bid was submitted by J. Nardulli Concrete, Inc. in an amount of $2,645,832.40. Staff is recommending approving the contract at the available budget amount of $2,780,678, which is higher than the bid amount, in order to get one, or potentially two, additional alleys replaced.

Fiscal Impact
The costs for this project would be funded through the FY 2018 Capital Improvement Fund, Public Works - Engineering, for Alley Improvements account no. 3095-43780-101-570964; the FY 2018 Capital Improvement Fund, Public Works - Engineering, for Local Street Construction account no. 3095-43780-101-570951 for patching of existing alleys; and through the FY 2018 CDBG fund for Development Customer Services - Neighborhood Services, Capital Improvements account no. 2083-46201-101-583657 according to the table below.



The remaining CIP alley funds will be used to pay for the design of the proposed 2019 alley improvement project which starts typically in late summer.

Awarding at the full budget amount will allow for one, or potentially two, additional alleys to be added to the construction project for replacement.

Residents have the option during the project to reimburse the Village to have their private garage-aprons reconstructed at the contract unit price and this cost will be offset as generated revenue.
