Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Overview
Competitive bids were opened on May 17, 2018, for the Micro-surfacing, Pavement Patching and Crack-Filling project. The Village combines this project with River Forest to provide cost savings with economies of scale through joint purchasing. The Village received one bid for the project from A.C. Pavement Striping Co. with the Village of Oak Park's portion in an amount of $480,430. Staff is recommending approving the contract at the available budget amount of $450,000 and reducing the scope of the project to fit within budget.

Fiscal Impact
The FY 2018 Budget includes $450,000 for this project in the Capital Improvement Fund in the following accounts Capital Improvement Fund, Public Works - Engineering, for Microsurfacing account no. 3095-43780-101-570974 providing $300,000 and the Capital Improvement Fund, Public Works - Engineering, for Local Street Construction account no. 3095-43780-101-570951 providing $150,000. The bid for the project came in $30,430 over the budgeted amount and staff will reduce scope to fit within the budgeted amount.

Background
The Village has used microsurfacing as part of the pavement maintenance program for many years. Microsurfacing is a surface treatment that extends the service life of pavements from 5 to 7 years. Approximately 4.2 miles of streets are planned to be micropaved under this contract. Additionally, crack filling will be done on a number of streets, including some stretches along streets that have been resurfaced between 3 and 5 years ago.
