Overview
In order to complete the repair work to the Underground Storage Tank (UST) leak detector monitoring system and sensors, additional repairs to buried deteriorated conduit and junction boxes were added to the original scope. The change order increases the contract by $4,672 from the previously approved $42,685 to $47,357.

Fiscal Impact
The FY2018 Capital Building Improvements Budget provides for a total of $60,000.00 for the above projects. The proposed change order is within the budgeted amount.

The Village Board previously approved an agreement with Stenstrom Petroleum Services, Inc. for replacement of the underground storage tank access ports and leak detector monitoring system in an amount not to exceed $44,819.00, which included the base bid of $42,685.00 plus a five percent (5%) contingency).

Background
In June 2018, the Village approved a Contract with Stenstrom Petroleum Services, Inc. for the replacement of the underground storage tank access ports and the leak detector monitoring system for the fuel storage tanks located at the Public Works Center. Work was underway on this project and due to unanticipated conditions of buried deteriorated electrical conduit and junction boxes for the underground sensors, a change order was required in order for this project to be completed.
