Background
L'Alberello, Inc., DBA Anfora ("Anfora") a seeks the creation of a new Class C-8 Boutique Liquor License Classification and the issuance of a new Class C-8 Boutique liquor license for an Italian focused wine store named Anfora at 128 South Marion Street. In addition to the sale of packaged wine and the incidental sale of other alcoholic liquors, Anfora seeks a license to allow tasting and sampling of wine in connection with small group wine education classes.
The ordinance creates a specific license class (C-8), with the following conditions:
The location must be 1300 square feet or less and be located in the "Central Business Area."The "Central Business Area" is defined in Chapter 3 ("Alcoholic Liquor Dealers") of the Village Code as the area between Forest and Harlem Avenue from North Boulevard to Ontario Street; on Oak Park Avenue from Ontario Street to Pleasant Street; on Lake Street from Euclid Avenue to Forest Avenue; and between Home and Harlem Avenues, from Pleasant Street to South Boulevard.
