This item includes replacing the existing Lombard side entranceway, including the metal door and frame, hardware, threshold and ADA push button. In addition, this project also includes replacement of the two metal doors, including frames, that lead out to the north courtyard from Village Hall.

Fiscal Impact
The FY2019 CIP Building Improvement Fund Budget includes a total of $25,000.00 in account no. 3012-43790-101-540673 for replacement of these three doors at Village Hall.
If approved, the total contract cost with ABS would not exceed $17,953.79 ($17,430.86 bid price plus a 5% contingency [$522.93] for unforeseen conditions).
This work is being brought to the Village Board for consideration since it would be classified as it is considered a Public Improvement that exceeds $10,000.00 per the Village Purchasing Policy.
Background
The Public Works Department issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) on June 28, 2019 for the replacement of doors at Village Hall. The ITB was advertised in the Wednesday Journal. Staff also sent the ITB to several local door companies, including The Door Doctors, FCG Door and Automated Pedestrian Access. ABS was the only company that submitted a proposal as shown on the attached Summary. Automated Pedestrian Access stated that they would submit a bid but no bid was ever received. The other companies were non-responsive when staff attempted to follow up. Public Works staff recommends accepting the bid from American Building Services, LLC (ABS).
