Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Overview
The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining approximately 105 miles of streets. Within the Village are several main streets and twelve separate Business District areas which require regular litter pick up. Bids were requested for this work. The lowest responsible bidder is Cleanslate Chicago, LLC.

Fiscal Impact
In the proposed FY2020 General Fund, Street Services budget, there is $73,000.00 to perform litter pick up services in the General Contractuals account no., 1001-43740-761-530660.

The proposed contracted amount is above the bid amount of $52,026.00 to allow for additional litter pickup if required and to allow enough funds to provide for a community based training program in cooperation with Housing Forward, an Oak Park agency. Housing Forward's mission is to transition people from housing crisis to housing stability. They have an Employment Readiness program which prepares clients for a successful, re-entry into the workplace. The work with Housing Forward will cost an additional $16,640.00 added to Cleanslate's contract.
The cost for litter pick up by Cleanslate Chicago, LLC for the 2020 contract year shall not exceed $73,000.00.

Background
Competitive bids were opened on October 23, 2019 in response to a call for bids for Village Wide Litter Pickup Services. The request was advertised in the Wednesday Journal, posted on the Village web site and five companies were contacted and invited to bid. Four bids were submitted.
