Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

The Fiscal Year 2020 Public Works Fleet Replacement Fund includes the replacement of a 2003 Public Works refuse mini packer truck to be replaced with a 2020 New Way 8 yard side loader mini packer. This purchase will be made through the Sourcewell Joint Purchasing Program, an opportunity for governments to leverage and pool resources for better pricing.

Funding is provided in the Public Works Fleet Replacement Fund, account No. 3032-43900-858-570750. $175,000.00 was budgeted for the replacement of this vehicle.

The purchase of this vehicle will be made through the local Sourcewell vendor, Standard Equipment Company of Chicago, IL. The Village has purchased vehicles and equipment from Standard Equipment Company in the past. They are an excellent dealer of Public Works equipment.

Funds for necessary equipment such as cabin/workspace up fit, light bar, etc. will also come from this account but will be purchased separately from vendors who supply this equipment.

Background
The vehicle that is being replaced assists the Public Works Department in collecting refuse from approximately 300 Village owned refuse receptacles that are placed in various business districts. The Department recently took this work back in-house after a cost evaluation for this service. Now that the Village returned doing this work it is necessary to replace the older refuse mini-packer truck.
