Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Overview
Competitive bids were opened on July 16th for the pavement preservation project. The Village received two bids with the low compliant bid for the project from A.C. Pavement Striping Co. in an amount of $477,453.50. The project includes microsurfacing, patching, and crack filling on various streets. Staff recommends awarding the project at the FY2020 Budget amount of $475,000 and reducing the scope of the project to fit the budget.

The FY 2020 Budget includes $475,000 for this project in the Capital Improvement Fund with $450,000 in the Capital Improvement Fund, Public Works - Engineering, for Pavement Preservation account no. 3095-43780-101-570977 and $25,000 Capital Improvement Fund, Public Works - Engineering, Local Street Construction, for alley patching account no. 3095-43780-101-570951.

Background
The program this year consists of microsurfacing, patching of streets and alleys, and crackfilling. The Village has used microsurfacing as part of the pavement maintenance program for many years. Microsurfacing is a surface treatment that extends the service life of pavements from 5 to 7 years. Approximately 2.05 miles of streets are planned to be micropaved under this contract. Additionally, crack filling will be done on a number of streets, including some stretches along streets that have been resurfaced between 3 and 5 years ago.
